As winegrowers, Bodegas Faelo respect the natural environment and traditions, as well asbiodynamic and selected viticulture. They take care of their vineyards in a natural way, avoiding pesticides and fungicides as far as possible. Thanks to this process, a product in harmony with environment is obtained.

Bodegas Faelo own 2,5 hectares of vineyards distributed in three plots, in the winery itself, Matola and Crevillente.

They select the varieties of grape that best adapt to Mediterranean climate and sandstone limestone soil. Moreover, they have a piece of land to experiment with vines and test how those varieties adapt. According to the results, they plant or graft their vines and continue with further research to improve their wines.

Currently, Faelo’s vineyards are planted with native varieties such as Monastrell, Muscat of Alexandria, as well as foreign ones; Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Syrah and Chardonnay.

Works in vineyards, pruning, green pruning, grape harvest and farm work, are made manually in order to pamper the vines as much as possible. With that objective, their vineyards are also planted with aromatic herbs (rosemary, lavender, sage, thyme…), to create an environment that helps to fight plagues in a natural way. In Faelo’s vineyards they are using drip irrigation since water is a scarce resource in this area of Alicante and, thus, vines receive just the water they require to produce fruits, using water wisely.

In 2012 Bodegas Faelo and their vineyards were included in the Protected Designation of Origin Wines of Alicante (D.O. Alicante). Therefore, we are granted by a quality certification.

With all their varieties of grape, Bodegas Faelo reach approximately 15,000 kg per harvest, obtaining 10,000 litres of wine (rosé, red, white and sweet). However, not all of them are bottled. Only the best wines will be bottled in our own installations. A highly controlled process looking at product quality at all stages.

A long careful work in the fields so that each vintage we launch to the market offers a limited series of numbered bottles.
